Mr Ramirez,

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to California

If you have an UNLIMITED pocket then use this Van company!!

Unfortunately we were scammed by this company while moving across the country. We wanted to save money so we went with someone "cheaper" than lets say a Bud Van Lines. They quoted us $6000 material fees.
The guys show up 4 hours late on moving day because their truck broke down (should have been our first clue!). The guys that were packing our stuff had no clue what they were doing. In fact they were probably just picked up outside of a Home Depot!!
By the time they were finished packing (with their flimsy Home Depot boxes) they said their truck was full and some major items that we wanted to bring with us wouldn't fit in the truck. Which we ended up having to leave. (Oh we could have paid an extra fee but it wasn't worth it. )
Then the haggling begins. After the "so called" inventory--box, box, cher (really-- chair). Because of the amount of paper, plastic wrap, boxes and tape they used our total charge would be $10,500!!?? What?? That was $3,500 more than was quoted. 50% more!!
We had no choice as we were at their mercy. They had our stuff.
Come to find out our stuff was going to be taken to their yard in Newark and transferred to a bigger truck. After 3 weeks. 3 WEEKS!! of living out of a suitcase with two 4 year olds and 2 cats (thankfully with family) our boxes arrived. BUT before they could deliver the goods they had to rent a small box van because our neighborhood could not support an 18 wheeler. Another $650!!
So if you add that up $6000 $3500 $650 = $10,150. (I think there were some other hidden fees we paid as well.) But if we had known that we would have paid this much we would have used a bigger company because they handle everything from start to finish.
Oh by the way did I mention the boxes were crushed? -- the ones marked fragile!! Some were broken at the seams and opened and re-taped.
Horrible HORRIBLE overall experience.
But the guys that did deliver our stuff did a good job and were friendly-- and accept gratuity!!

Official company response

I am deeply sorry to hear that you had to experience this issue. This is highly uncharacteristic of our team,we pride ourselves on our punctuality.

We are sorry to hear you were not fully satisfied with your experience in moving out of state with Unlimited Van Lines Incorporated. We always try to ensure that our customers belongings are in the very best condition, but unfortunately it sounds like this specific move caused some damage to your belongings.

We always try our best to get our customers belongings delivered in a timely manner but it sounds like there were a few bumps on the road to AZ.

I would like to direct you to our CSI Claims Department to try and amend this situation. You can reach them at 1-877-274-0074. Again I am sorry to hear this has been a difficult experience and I hope we can move forward and find a solution.

Long-distance move from Maryland to Illinois

Buyer Beware!!

I moved this past summer and in short, I’m out over $2,000 than what I was originally quoted to pay, late delivery and property damage. And to my dismay, this company took absolutely no actions to rectify the situation. The only time I was called was when they were demanding money on the three price increases. It is quite evident that they are not concerned with the satisfaction of their customers via their negligent customer service. Very unprofessional and dodgy company.    Details:  1.Unbeknownst to me, I was subcontracted out to Unlimited Van Lines from National Moving Group (NMG). Unlimited Van Lines was to honor original contract made with NMG. 2.Three price increases despite a a binding “Not-to-Exceed Cost” clause in original contract with NMG 3.Charged for shuttle bus 4.Property damage. Even purchased a protective plastic covering for couch to prevent such damage.  5.Moved from a 1-bed in MD to a 550ft studio in IL with no unusually heavy furniture yet, weight of truck doubled. My inventory list was exact when they called me two days before the pick up and actually less than pick up day  6.Late delivery despite wiring them over half of what I was required for a speedy delivery 7.I was left dealing with two companies, several contracts and no clear point of contact person. 8.Tried going through Unlimited Van Lines’ claims process but nothing – not even a phone call.  9.I was left financially drained while both companies profited from breached terms    FYI  - as of this past summer, they don’t accept credit cards – cash only or money wire.  .

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Nevada

Horrible.

This move started out a nightmare and got worse. The movers arrived on time, then they re quoted us a price that was DOUBLE what we were quoted on the phone. Right there should have ended, but we were packed and had a timetable to move. We agreed to the price after a bargaining session and were loaded up. The movers assured us our concern for the up to 21 day delivery "NEVER HAPPENS", and we would be shipped in about a week. We left on a Monday morning and called Unlimited on Tues. about our belongings. Sarah answered and told us that our things would ship Wed. or early Thurs. We called Fri and inquired as to where our things were. We were then introduced to Kevin. Kevin is a rude, disrespectful, unethical lying individual. I am keeping it clean so all can read this review. In dealing with Keven he yelled at my wife and called her a liar on several occasions. Suddenly the truck needed a starter and it was coming on Sat. and our stuff would ship Monday. We wait the weekend and call and Kevin now calls my wife a liar and said he told us to call Monday. After calling Kevin out on his lie he begins to raise his voice and now won't talk to us, so he gives us to Layla. Layla is another lying deceiving individual who took over where Kevin left off. We were picked up on July 5th and lied to for 20 days. Every day we called we were lied to and told it was being sent. Layla and Kevin went out of their way to lie and deceive us. Our belongings arrived Friday July 24th at 8:30 pm. Who would ever hire an unethical lying company that takes 20 days to deliver after promising a week and doubling the price? Once the things arrived the nightmare continued. One of our bedroom sets was completely destroyed the top was ripped off and the entire piece unusable. The other dresser sustained gashed slices on the top. A new hand made hutch had huge gash and a smash mark like hit with a hammer. Our two bikes were damaged and many boxes were smashed. Additionally our wicker patio set and ceramic outdoor table with chairs was and is still  missing. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! READ THE REVIEWS..WE UNFORTUNATELY DIDN'T. It took great restraint to not use abusive language. I Hhave more pics if you want to see them. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Unlimated van lines.

They showed up for pick up without a phone call-was told I would have 24 hrs notice they have a 800 number that no one picks up - so no way toi get in touch with them, I was told one truck would be used- instead they put my goods in a shuttle- and it set for days on end-.  If I knew that I would have gone with the big movers. My furniture was damaged- my wardobe boxes were so crused and destroyed that they must have been flung like a rubber ball. All my clothes were at the bottom of the box off hangers!!.  My sterio was broken, dishes and furniture was broken.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to North Carolina

Poor service.

First they just want you to sign the contract, and they keep adding fees you didn't expect. It seems like it is a cheap or affordable moving company but it is not. The staff are rude and unprofessional. The service is poor, and take too long to be delivered. And the trailer has no name on it, it's like a group of friends who are trying to make some money. I expected more from them. They need to improve their service and staff.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Texas

Home Move.

We had a binding estimate for the move from Alliance Moving Services who contracted with Unlimited Van Lines for the move.  Unlimited showed up on a Sunday to pickup our furniture and the estimate changed from 1,204cf to 2,750cf. Because it was Sunday and we could not contact anyone to discuss. Since we had to be out of the house due to settlement we did not have time to find another mover and were forced to accept the new terms. The truck that picked up our furniture only had capacity for approx. 1,300cf. In additional we had a detailed inventory list from another moving company and the items moved by Unlimited Van Lines only came to 1,274cf.  We have tried to settle this, but Unlimited has refused and since they are paid in cash there is not much we can do.  Also, they tried to get us to sign the insurance waiver, saying it was for insurance. After I read terms I found that was not the case and refused to sign.  We had a number of items that were badly damaged in the move and were not able to come to agreement on settlement for damages.

Long-distance move from Kansas to Virginia

State to State move.

This company has completely lost my respect. The customer service is ridiculously horrible. When asking to speak with management I am told no one is available. Melissa who seems to be the only person to work for unlimited van lines is extremely rude!! I was given a date for my delivery and have the message saved on my phone. I was called the day before and told the delivery was now changed to a day earlier and if I was not available I would have to wait 18 days before receiving my furniture. This is completely ridiculous after I already explained due to my son having surgery I was not available and was available the day we already agreed on!! This is unacceptable and thankfully because I do have an aunt that is a lawyer I will be contacting her to see if this is a breach in contract. I have evidence that they changed my delivery date and because I'm not available the date they decided to change it to I'm being forced to wait an additional 18 days.
